the 1st trimester

we've yet to see a gynae, as the recommended (female) one is now located at thomson medical instead of kkh, where we've decided i should deliver in. i'm a little impatient to see the gynae soon, just so that i know how old baby poh is. my guess is 7-8weeks, if i recall rightly when i started feeling the symptoms.

the symptoms have now ventured into being really hypersensitive to smells and starting last night, having a scarily bigger appetite. this morning, i had a pork floss sandwich and milk, followed by an apple, and a whole pack of bee hoon+egg+luncheon meat by 930am. yea, that made up my breakfast (taken at separate times) this morning, as i realized to my horror how insatiable the hunger is now. as i type this, i'm halfway through a nutella sandwich less than after a full lunch of cai fan.

as i learn to cope with the many changes my body goes through in this first pregnancy, i'm amazed at the thought of how jesus came to the world in the form of a baby. i had marveled at that before, but now, it is the thought of how He went through the formation in a mother's womb that amazes me. to think that He would humble Himself to be formed that way, and to be reliant on the human body. it astounds me, to understand that my Lord and Savior went through that whole process, something which we have all been through, and is what baby poh is going through now.

i like that thought. i'll think more about that through the day.

preparing for a little one

(: we confirmed on tuesday that i'm expecting a little one, baby poh. till we determine the gender, that's the baby's name ;) we haven't seen the gynae yet, hope to do so by early Oct.

so much for the 2 year plan! :P at least that was my idea. but He's got other plans evidently. i'm glad that at least the many symptoms i've been experiencing in recent weeks are for a reason. the unexplainable headaches, extreme fatigue, nausea, persistent hunger and bloatedness *faints* but as of now, baby poh is anywhere from 3-8weeks old.

pray for us! we are of course excited and happy at this miracle of a child (and so soon!!). nevertheless, it's a whirlwind of a journey too.

  • pray that i'll be able to put on weight healthily. the doctor ordered me to put on weight but with how little i can eat at each sitting before becoming full, i don't know if that's a tall order.
  • pray that i'll be able to stay toned despite having to abstain from most of the dancing i've been doing (again, doctor's orders). the vainpot in me shudders at the thought of having flabby muscles during these few months :P
  • pray for our house!! with the little one due to come before mid 2010, it's quite important we can get our own place soon.
  • pray that i can adjust patiently and with grace to all the physical, emotional and lifestyle changes. At the same time, pray that the hubby will be able to adjust to my adjustments too
  • pray that we will learn to be heart prepared as best as we can, to be the young parents that we'll be
  • ok, this is gonna sound a little silly but i'm really dreading (highly) possible situations that strangers will think the pregnancy is shotgun cuz of how young we look. i get weird looks sometimes in the lift when we head off to the office. heh.
ok gotta go back to my place! (: thanks for praying dear friends!!

life so far

has been mostly good (:

of late i haven't been sleeping enough as the hubby has been grinding his teeth a lot in his sleep. hypersensitive to sound, i wake up at every instance that it happens. sometimes it's a short soft grinding, other times it's long-drawn and literally, right in my ear.

but last night i felt very sorry for him. we'd gone to the doc (mostly cuz he wanted to see us following our medical reports) and the hubby was given muscle relaxants. the haze that descended upon the little red dot last night however, made breathing so difficult for both of us. seeing how he kept tossing and turning in his sleep to breathe better made me :( hopefully, the nasal spray tonight will help.

we're still in need of our house and waiting on Him. ministry wise, there's much on both of our plates to consider for the end of this year and 2010. much wisdom and discernment needed to know how He desires for us to walk.

Yesterday the Crea Comm ppl celebrated my birthday with a decadent cake from Awfully Chocolate. The actual day was spent on catching on much needed sleep and dinner @ sun with moon (wheelock). the hubby ordered a teriyaki foie gras appetiser that was soooo amazingly good, it won my heart and tummy. (: it was nice to satisfy the sukiyaki craving too, hee.

wedding pictures are out!! will need to start the rather laborious task of choosing relevant ones to print for family members. still, not as laborious as the energy the photographer invested in editing them. i shall choose to do this in joy! :D

the coming of age

it just occured to me this morning that in 13 days, i'll turn a quarter of a century old. WOW.

i guess it's just a number to some but it feels like the crossing of a threshold. it feels like... *gasp* i'm only 5 years away from being 30!!! *EEEKS*!!!!

it feels strange, like a heavy responsibility, yet of what, i have no clue.

i liked being 24. and since i like even numbers, i'm actually not that keen on being 25, cuz it's an odd number. silly reason i know, but it's one of those quirks. yet, i'm kind of excited. i think the year of being 25 will be a special one.
