returning to s'pore

it's amazing how fast one month has passed! where oh where did January go?

i've been back from bangkok for a few days now, and en route the returning flight, i was never more eager to head home. and that was largely due to my severely aching body recovering from a bout of food poisoning just hours before.

yep. i 'kanna' food poisoning in bkk. and of all things, by drinking a cup of hot chocolate from the hotel i was staying in. *bleah* i hope i can go near the drink in future, especially how unpleasant it was to have merlion-ed 5 times because of it. it resulted in having to go to the hospital because i started getting abdominal cramps and i was concerned if i would get an infection. the last time i had food poisoning (also in thailand), i had an infection and should it happen again this time round, it would affect baby Asher.

thankfully, after 2 injections and an ultrasound, the pain decreased and baby Asher looked fine. he weighed a healthy 1.04kg and i'm real thankful for that, especially since my tummy is a lot smaller than most other pregnant women around.

speaking of thanksgiving, i'm really glad for how this work (plus some shopping) trip went. being able to see how God worked through us and in the students while we conducted the dance training was humbling and reassuring. it was amazing to see how He orchestrated events such that our being there would provide such timely reassurance and advice to the staff and students regarding a dance ministry, and He used our very little to bless others (:

shopping with my mum after the work was done (she flew up to join me) was enjoyable. i was telling the hubby that i think my becoming a mum seems to be helping us to bond. it definitely helped that baby Asher moved a lot when we flew home and gave his grandma lots to squeal in delight about (:

so i'm thankful for all of that, and for my comfortable bed!! ever since we got the mattress topper, sleep has been so much more restful. needless to say, my new body size is also thankful for the added support the mattress topper provides.

and the hubby's home too!! enjoying simple pleasures of having meals together and walking hand in hand while the baby isn't keeping us too occupied...yet. there's loads happening in feb! at least work wise. hello the month of february!!!

saturday glee

this morning i remembered a present sara got for me from the US, a maternity band that goes over pre-maternity clothes to cover the open zipper due to the belly. it looks like a tube top but is made of a lighter material. i quickly tried one of my pants and though it was a rather snug fit, the maternity band worked its miracle! :D i squeezed into my jeans and took the photo below

heh heh (: but i'm not sure if i'm gonna be able to fit into the bottoms for a much longer time since baby Asher is going to put on more weight in the coming weeks. still, it'll mean i can wear denim a lot sooner after childbirth! anyhow, i used the band to wear my regular shorts out today. feels so good to not have to wear baggy pants to go out! :P

going to simply bread to meet the bride-to-be for late brunch allowed me to walk and admire the beautiful morning He created today. i took a couple of photos and am quite pleased with this pic of me, cuz i hardly look poofy in the face. save for the eye bags due to water retention (as usual), i think it's quite a nice picture.

and i received pretty geberras from the bride-to-be! (:

'new' outfit

when in need and with a good excuse like i do now, i borrowed the shirt from the hubby's wardrobe, complete with the cufflinks (: i bought this for him actually, and it looks a little poofy around the arms but is a nice fit for the growing boy inside :D

the season of water retention has started too. my face is now a little fatter than 2 months ago and when night falls, my feet/toes are evidently poofy, as are my fingers. in fact, i only realised last night that a bruise on my ring finger was a result of me trying to wrench my rings off a very puffy finger! :P still, am glad that at least the flaking season is almost ending. i hope it stays that way.
